Nice Hotel \, not as expensive as a stay in St. Moritz which is apporximately 18 km distant.

This appeared to be a youth hostel. We got there at 6:30. There was nobody around to check us in. Just a key on the counter. We don't know if it was intended for us. There were no restaurants open for miles. We left at 9:00. There was nobody around to check us out.

The hostel was warm, clean and functional. It was in a very good location for outdoor activities of all kinds, and for transport connections to the rest of the Engadine Valley. Rates were very competitive, and the quality of meals were satisfactory.
The evening meal was served too early by my standards (it had to be eaten between 6.30 om and 7.00 pm) and the internet was too expensive at SF10 per hour.

not much to recommend this place to anyone. On arrival our host made us welcome, but it was quickly obvious that the hotel/guesthouse was a school dormitory, housing school children during term time that cannot return home to the more remote area's of Switzerland.
I booked a twin room. This appeared to be 'let' to students during the school term time, and were garishly painted in bold primary colours (Gloss Yellow paint should NEVER be used in a bedroom) There was no ensuite bathroom, which for the price of 120SF a night should have been obligatory. The nearest toilet was 10-15 yards down the corridor. The shower and toilet facilities were spotless, but shared with everyone on the floor. The premises looked like a dormitory. There are several Churches in the village, but one has a bell which strikes on the quarter hours, twice with two different bells and goes on ALL NIGHT, it was difficult to sleep with this constant interuption. Breakfast was a take it or leave it affair and very poor given the price paid for the accommodation. If you visit here please take plenty of cash, as this village/country is exhorbitantly expensive.
